The first quarter has wrapped up at CJI Schools, and we have a lot to appreciate as we head into November. Thank you to our staff, families, volunteers, and community members for the many ways you support our students. Whether you are helping at an event, supporting a school project, or keeping up with your child’s progress, your involvement makes a difference.

The first quarter ended October 14, and report cards were mailed the week of October 19\. We also held a successful Hawk Card assembly to celebrate our students’ accomplishments. It is always great to recognize their hard work and see the pride they take in their school.

Our school-based mental health clinic continues to run smoothly, and the number of students receiving services is growing. We appreciate the partnerships that make this support available right here at school. We are also working with the Montana Healthcare Foundation on a potential $75,000 grant over two years to help strengthen our mental health services.

We are excited about a cooperative partnership with Big Sandy that will give CJI students access to a HOSA chapter. The school board approved the chapter to provide more opportunities for students to explore careers in healthcare. Thank you to the school and healthcare partners helping bring this opportunity to our students.

The board also approved hiring Grayson Waters as our Sage Creek Colony teacher. We look forward to welcoming him to CJI.

Work is moving forward on the old locker rooms. The board approved bid language covering ceiling replacement, lighting improvements, and ventilation, with bids scheduled to open November 4\. Please contact me if you are interested in bidding or would like to review the scope of work.

A big thank-you goes to the Booster Club for its donation of a 50-foot flagpole for the football field, which the board accepted in October. This is another example of our community stepping up to support CJI. We appreciate the time, effort, and generosity behind this project.

The CJI Operations Portal continues to work well, and families can now order and pay for yearbooks through the portal. We will continue looking for ways to make it more useful and convenient. Please reach out with any suggestions.

We are also continuing our accreditation work. The process includes annual verification of staff teaching and administrative licenses, along with a three-year submission documenting how schools meet state requirements for strategic planning, course offerings, standards, and curriculum. CJI has maintained Regular accreditation status, the highest designation, for the past four years, and we anticipate maintaining that status this year. That reflects the ongoing work of our staff and the support they receive from our families and community.

Thank you for continuing to show up for our students and our schools. We appreciate everything this community does to make CJI a great place for our students to learn. It's a great time to be a Hawk!
